O God our Creator, it has taken us a long time to get to where we find ourselves today and we know we need to change.  It will take time for us to move from this place of great anxiety and we need your help.  Help us to plant seeds of love and compassion that will grow.  May we be fertile soil in which those seeds are planted.  Let us release those things that inhibit us from doing your will. Build up in us a shield against the temptation to fall into selfish and sinful ways.  May our actions match our words.  Give us the strength of character to stand up to those whose actions are divisive, and respond in a way that builds on your desire for us to put serving the needs of others ahead of our own.  May we build a foundation of caring that grows into a cathedral of love and compassion standing firmly against the vestiges of hate in the world.  All this we ask in your name.  Amen.
