Sacrificing God, we struggle to comprehend the full meaning of what we commemorate this day.  Giving your life to make us redeemable is beyond our understanding and far more than we deserve for breaking so many covenants with you.  Help us to recognize your sacrifice for us this day.  May we become more aware of the the times when we are called to give of ourselves.  Let us remember your call for us to show whose we are by how we express love.  May we appreciate fully what you have done for us on this day.  Help us to take this time between today and Sunday to renew our commitment to follow you on the path you have set before us.  All this we ask in your Name.  Amen.
