Prayer for May 2, 2021

O God who commands us to make the Sabbath Holy, help us to better live into it fully.  We know that it calls us to set aside a time to refresh our batteries, to lay down the burdens we are carrying (if only for a little while) and to redirect our lives toward the love for one another and for you.  May we truly release all that is holding us back from doing those things that you would have us do and fully enjoy the freedom that you give us when we lay our burdens down.  May we make this Sabbath a true one, so that when it is time for us to take back up the load we carry daily we are rested and ready to meet the world for what it is and not for what as we have perceived it.  All this we ask in the name of a God who heals us and makes us whole.  Amen.
