Prayer for December 23, 2021

I don’t remember exactly when my family started calling this day Christmas Adam, O God. What it has become is a day of preparation. Help us this day to be ready for what life gives us. May we recognize that this time of year is about family, treating others as beloved, and celebrating a God that would walk among us. Let us enjoy the season and not be overwhelmed or anxious that things may not be perfect. Help us to focus on loving one another as you loved us and celebrating the traditions that mean so much to us. All this we ask in the name of the God who would sacrifice all for our redemption. Amen.
