Prayer for December 24, 2021

For many, this day is the day that we celebrate in worship the birth of the Christ Child. It is a day filled with music, and anticipation for what tomorrow brings. Help us as we gather at dusk and into the night and next day to feel your presence among us. May we raise our voices in song and honor the traditions that make the Christmas celebration special. Help those who are lonely and hurting find comfort and fellowship this day and everyday. Help us to see this next 24 hours from the eyes of a child, filled with wonder and joy. Let us honor those who are working while we celebrate and ask your protection and healing for those who are struggling to fight this pandemic and its latest variant. Be with those who protect us now and always. May your blessing be upon us all. Amen
