Prayer for December 25, 2021

It is Christmas, Loving God, and we are filled with the joy and wonder this day always brings. May our voices be raised singing the praises that this day deserves. Let us be filled with your spirit as we remember the story of Christ’s birth and the angels announcing his birth to the shepherds and their desire to go to see the child. May we celebrate the wonder that they must have felt as they looked up to the star filled sky. Let us be guided by your example of unconditional love for us and treat everyone we meet as a beloved child of God. Help us when we are afraid to know that your message of Good News outshines any darkness we may feel. May you comfort and heal those who are ill or struggling, and be with those who care for us as we celebrate this day. We thank you for the truly greatest gift of walking among us so that we might experience the redemption that your life provided. Amen.
