Prayer for November 3, 2022

Help us, O God, to find rest when our minds wake us in the middle of the night because of overthinking things, too many ideas are bouncing around in our heads, and just those times when we simply cannot sleep for a couple hours. Let us find ways to either quickly fall back asleep or be productive because of the fact that time is our least distracted time. May we also be comfortable using that time to simply be present to ourselves. Too often, Loving God, we are so busy during the day that we don’t take stock of what is happening around us or fail to see trends in our lives. May we use unexpected waking time to be more present to you and ourselves. All this we ask in the name of the God for whom time has so many meanings. Amen.
