Prayer for November 5, 2022

O God, you created us to be in community with one another. Help us as we move through the next week and the election to find common ground and step away from the rhetoric of hate that seems to be dividing all of us. May the extremists in our world not with the day. We pray that there will be no violence and that people will accept the outcome. May we work toward focusing on those things that build up rather than tear down, things that show compassion instead of indifference, respect for our differences instead of racism. May we strive to love one another as you have loved us and use that as the measure of our actions. Amen
