Prayer for November 25, 2022

May we be nice today, O God. So often on the day after Thanksgiving we see people being incredibly selfish and angry. May we hold on a little longer to the joy and camaraderie we felt yesterday and be mannerly with the people with whom we interact. Be with those people who are working in the retail and service industry today, as it is a day filled with stress and often rude people. May they remain calm and find that responding in kind is not as fulfilling as responding with compassion and empathy. Help us to begin this season where we prepare for celebrating the birth of Christ, to be more focused on how we treat others loving our neighbors as ourselves. All this we ask in your name. Amen
