Prayer for December 11, 2022

May we be patient in this time of anxiety and great anticipation. We have an expectation of things happening for us quickly and often exactly as we expect. Help us to know that sometimes the answer to our requests (and even prayers) are answered with, “Not Yet” or even “No.” May we step back when we are challenged by the myriad ways that seem to ask us to wait, or we are put on hold (whether literally or figuratively) and decide how we are going to respond to those times. So often we are in positions where we have little control, or communication with others is challenging. During those times may we remember that they are children of God and we are called to a higher standard of love and compassion. May we love one another as you love us and express that through our thoughts and actions this and everyday. Amen
