Today, Comforting God, I was struck by the incredible gift it is to be asked to pray for and with someone in a time of need. There are so many of us who are too uncomfortable to ask for prayers, who think we might be somewhat selfish or not worthy somehow. Yet you remind us each and everyday that we are meant to be there for one another and that a simple act of welcome and presence to our fellow human beings is so much more wonderful than the greatest of inventions. Help us O God to honor what is to be fully present to one another. Amen.
